A leading specialist in drug-resistant tuberculosis treatment and health-policy anthropology, his research centres on implementation science across clinical and policy domains, with particular emphasis on TB and MDR-TB interventions, including over sixteen years of clinical research in Russia and pioneering community-based treatment programmes for TB/HIV co-infected populations in sub-Saharan Africa with Partners In Health.
