At Sunway University, we advocate for online and self-paced learning where students can control their academic experience. If you’re nervous, no worries! We will guide you step-by-step on how to activate your account and help you to take full advantage of the eLearn platform.

Important Note for International Students

All students are required to report to the International Office immediately upon arrival in Malaysia. Please complete the post-medical screening and submit your original passport afterward.

Kindly note that these procedures may take at least one (1) working day. You are strongly advised to arrive at least two (2) working days before Orientation to avoid any delays.

Failure to complete these steps will result in system blockage, preventing activation of your student account and class enrollment.

Activate Your Student Account

Please note that the Student Account Activation can only be done 7 DAYS before the semester commences. Students from all programmes may activate their account from:

  • 27 April 2026 for April intake of ADTP, Diploma, Undergraduate, and PG (Taught) programmes
  • 4 May 2026 for Study Period 2 of ODL, PG (Taught) Modular programmes

Please skip this step if you already have an existing Sunway iMail account. You may directly login to your eLearn instead.


  1. Click any one of the following links for the relevant account activation guide.

  • Tap a for video guide.
  • Tap for the student activation link.
  • Tap to activate Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) for iMail, (New & existing student)

  1. Once you are in the system, use your Student ID as your Username and enter the default password.

    The default password is: YYYYMmmXXXX    
    YYYY – 4 digit year of birth, eg 2000    
    Mmm - 3 letter birth month with initial cap, eg Feb    
    XXXX - last 4 characters of IC No (Malaysian) or Passport No (non-Malaysian), eg 5104

    Default password example: 2000Feb5104

Change the Password

The page will prompt you to change your password. It is important to regularly change your password for better security.

After you have activated your account, please allow 60 mins for eLearn to sync to your new password, before you log on to it.

School Orientation only commences on:

  • 29 April for ADTP, Diploma, Undergraduate, and PG (Taught) programmes 
  • 8 May for PG (Taught) Modular programmes

Notes:

  1. Same Student ID Sign-On: Once your Student ID account is activated, the updated password will apply to all campus systems.
  2. System Access: Platforms such as iZone, eLearn, XLearn, vLab, and Wi-Fi require login using your Student ID only (e.g., 14052518).
  3. iMail Login Format: Use your Student ID in the following format: @email (e.g., @email)
  4. Technical Support: For assistance from ITS, please email @email
